As well as the delicious food and drinks, what we loved most about Snapper was it’s obvious passion for New Zealand sea food, as well as sustainable fishing methods. The range and quality of the catch was outstanding, and a major plus is that all the fish is fresh and locally sourced. Snapper, Cod, Lemon Sole, Salmon, Gurnard and Hake all make an appearance on the huge menu, as well as an outstanding variety of shellfish. A special mention must go to the crispy fried Calamari that was cooked to perfection!

New Zealand style fish and chips in Bangkok

There is such a variety of different dishes on offer at Snapper that it might be easy to forget that you came here for a good old-fashioned fish and chips! If you do decide on New Zealand’s national dish, prices start from 200 baht, and there are up to ten different fish to choose from! You can request either crumbed or battered fish, garlic or tartare sauce, slice of lemon or just plain and simple. As well as the fish, there is also a dazzling array of side dishes to choose from; thick cut or traditional chips, onion rings and buttered veggies just to name a few. Our personal favourites were the delicious Kumera Sweet Potato Fries and of course the traditional minted Mushy Peas.

A great selection of sweets at Snapper

For those looking for lighter options, there is a great range of salads, as well as some meat dishes for those who don’t fancy fish. Group diners, or for greedy two-somes, we would most certainly recommend the platters to share, starting at 900 Baht. As for drinks, Snapper has a great selection of both Australian and New Zealand wines, with prices from 160 baht a glass. The cocktail menu here is great too, with a few tasty house offerings- we loved the Kiwi-oska; a delicious blend of kiwi fruit and kiwi vodka!

Happy customer eating at Snapper's in Bangkok

Just in case you think this place sounds too good to be true- we invited our friend from New Zealand for dinner in order to taste test the food. She gave it her Kiwi seal of approval, but did notice one terrible thing about the place- it was so good it made her miss home!
